Dressmaking

Who is this suitable for?

Our classes are suitable for total beginners who have never used a sewing machine before to those with more experience. Our tutor will guide you through your chosen project at your own pace.

What will I learn?

You will work on your own project and our tutor is here to provide inspiration for your first garment. She will help you choose a pattern form those we stock instore, measure your body so it fits, follow a paper pattern and use the sewing machine to put together your garment. You may need to insert pockets and zips and your pattern may also need 'tweaking' so it fits your body shape.

What do I need to bring?

You will need to provide your own pattern, fabrics and it’s best to have your own sewing kit and fabric scissors also. We have plenty of cutting mats and sewing machines for you to use as well as overlockers. As a student with us you will receive a 10% discount* on anything bought in store (*exclusions apply). We will also provide refreshments during the class.

When can I start?

You can start at any time subject to availability.

We have a maximum of 6 students per group.  Once your course starts your six lessons will run consecutively and any missed lessons cannot be carried over unless the tutor reschedules.
