Tunisian Crochet **

Learn some of the basic stitches of this increasingly popular craft which combines elements of knitting and crochet to produce a fabric that is unique. Learn how to increase, decrease and use short rows to shape the fabric. You will also learn a variant of Tunisian crochet using a double ended hook to produce a two colour reversible fabric. Basic crochet understanding is preferred.

Includes yarn; bring a 6.5mm double ended Tunisian hook - available in store at a discounted rate.

 

Love your Overlocker *

Saturday 7 September | 10h00-16h00 | Caroline | £35

A short workshop to help you get the best from your overlocker. We will help you understand what your overlocker can do; teach you how to thread it up using 3 and 4 threads; how to adjust the stitches so it’s perfect for the fabrics you are threading and help you to be more confident with your overlocker. We have 2 overlockers available to hire (£10 additional charge) otherwise you should bring your own along with its accessories and manual if available.

Raglan Sleeved Top using the Overlocker **

Further develop your overlocking skills and create a raglan sleeve top or dress with a choice of cap, short or long sleeves.

You will make a simple pattern to your own measurements for a custom fit that you can take away and use again and again.

You will need to provide fabric - soft & drapey or stretch (such as jersey), matching threads for your overlocker, ballpoint needle/ jersey/stretch machine needles and some sharp scissors and a tape measure.

This class is suitable for those with an overlocker and some sewing experience. You should know the basics of the Overlocker before coming to this class.

A one day workshop to help you get the best from your overlocker. We will help you understand what your overlocker can do; teach you to thread it up using 3 and 4 threads; how to adjust the stitches so it’s perfect for the fabrics you are using; how to overlock corners and curves; show you the different stitches and what you can do with them and help you to be more confident with the overlocker. We have 2 overlockers available to hire (£10 additional charge) otherwise you should bring your own along with its accessories and manual if available. Threads and fabric provided.

 

Learn to Crochet *

Saturday 9 November | 10h00-15h00 | Julie | £35

Suitable for complete beginners, this workshop is the perfect introduction to crochet. Learn how to hold the hook and yarn, how to crochet basic stitches and be able to understand and follow a pattern.

Crochet: Next Steps**

Saturday 7 December | 10h00-13h00 | Julie | £25

If you’ve mastered the basic stitches and a granny square and want to expand your knowledge of crochet, this is the class for you! You will learn how to crochet a variety of snowflakes and stars just in time for Christmas. A basic knowledge of crochet is required for this class.

Yarn provided, please bring a 4mm hook.
